Prior Lake Maneuvers 2012 September 1st … a perfect day for a convoy hosted by friends, Mike Dyer and Dan Thorsen. Mike did a great job staging the event! Instructions for the drivers. Lining up for the Convoy. Guests were encouraged to wear period dress as shown above with guests, Paul and Alyssa Wirth and friends. The Diamond T did not make it far on the convoy. We replaced it with the WC 62. In the photo above we had to fix a brake issue on one of the jeeps at our first stopping point. After that we had no more mechanical issues on the 34-mile trip. Our first stop was at the park in beautiful downtown Chaska. While there, we saw a wedding party taking photos at the gazebo. They came over and asked if they could take some photos with the vehicles… Of course no military vehicle photo shoot is complete without a couple of “Tommy” guns for props! Best man at the driver’s seat of the Command Car. We enjoyed sharing the trucks with the wedding couple and were thinking about loading up for the second leg of our trip when …. ANOTHER bride and groom showed up! They opted to use the Half Ton and asked our men and women in uniform to pose with them! Our second stop was in downtown Jordan. Another short break, this time to do a little bit of antique shopping. And then back to Mike’s for beer and hotdogs. Thanks, Mike for planning and hosting the event. Mike and Pam.
